SPSV HISTORY

St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School’s history in Vallejo began in 1870 as a coeducational St. Vincent Ferrer High School staffed by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael. St. Patrick’s High School was established for male students in 1968 administered by the Christian Brothers of Ireland. The female students remained at the St. Vincent campus during this era. Since 1987 the two schools reunited as St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School on our beautiful and ever evolving Benicia Road Campus.

St. Patrick – St. Vincent High School students are challenged academically resulting in well over 95% attending college. We are blessed with qualified, dedicated teachers who pass on their excitement for their subject. Honor courses and Advanced Placement classes are offered in multiple subjects including History, English, Mathematics, Laboratory Sciences and World Language courses.

Outside of the classroom our students are also actively learning. SPSV is blessed to have an exceptional campus ministry program involving both student and adult leaders. Students benefit from our comprehensive guidance department for college and personal counseling, including an educational component for our parents. SPSV students enjoy an innovative school-wide leadership program. The school is currently involved in a multi year technology plan including new classroom technology and expanded communication with our families via e-mail/e-news. Families also have instant access to student progress using our online grading program. St. Patrick-St. Vincent has a tradition of award-winning drama and choral programs, which compete locally and internationally in festivals. An expansive athletic program offers 21 different teams, which compete during the fall, winter and spring seasons. SPSV Bruins have gathered many championships including a State Title in 2008. Our website www.spsv.org has team schedules, as well as, current information on all aspects of our busy campus life. St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School is able to create a safe, family community.
