Senior Econ Project has International Flare

On Tuesday, April 24, the senior class gathered in the cafeteria for the International Economic Summit. As economic advisors they were assigned a country in January to research, evaluating its strengths and weaknesses in order to develop specific goals for improving the standard of living. They met on Tuesday in the international marketplace to trade for the goods and services needed to achieve their goals. The seniors arrived in country costumes, set up a display table including a colorful, informative poster and presented trade statements to the 45 countries assembled for the summit. In the afternoon they participated in a lively trading session and experienced global competition for scarce resources.

The SPSV Garden Blooms with Community Support

Many local businesses and community groups have been and continue to be generous in their support of the SPSV Garden Project. Bob Hattich donated heirloom tomatoes and peppers for the second year in a row… Slow Food Solano awarded us a $200 grant to install drip irrigation which Stephen Berry (husband of former SPSV faculty member Kate Perry) designed and the Urban Farmer helped to supply materials. Take the opportunity to explore the attractive and informative websites of some of the local, independent businesses. You will be amazed! Please return their generosity with your patronage.
